Intro
We're looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to own and evolve our cloud infrastructure, and help us scale it securely. You'll work across AWS, IaC, CI/CD, and security/compliance, making pragmatic decisions that balance speed, reliability, and risk. This isn't a ticket-taking role: we want someone who designs systems, takes ownership, and enables the engineering team to move fast without breaking things.Please note: at this stage we're not able to offer visa sponsorship. Candidates must already have the right to work in Germany.
Your tasks
- Design, build, and maintain our AWS infrastructure (VPC, IAM, ECS/EKS, multi-account setups)
- Own infrastructure as code with Terraform: keeping it clean, scalable, and auditable
- Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and secure deployment processes
- Build secure environments by default: IAM least-privilege, encryption, secrets management, and security thinking baked into the platform from the start
- Drive observability: logging, monitoring, and alerting across the stack
- Lead incident response and contribute to reliability engineering (SRE fundamentals)
- Occasionally contribute to customer-facing product work — APIs, backend services, UI — alongside the engineering team
- Enable other engineering teams: remove blockers, don't create them
Your profile
- Strong hands-on AWS experience: VPC, IAM, ECS/EKS, networking, multi-account setups
- Solid Terraform / IaC ownership: you've built and maintained it in production
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and secure deployment practices
- Security fundamentals: IAM, encryption, secrets management, KMS — you build secure by default rather than bolting it on later
- Observability experience: logging, monitoring, alerting at scale
- Startup or scale-up background: you've worked at a Series A–B company or a small team, and know what it means to wear multiple hats and move fast with limited resources
- Some programming experience beyond IaC — Node.js is a plus, but Python, Go, or similar are fine too — plus either past experience with APIs/backends/UIs, or a genuine willingness to pick up occasional customer-facing dev work. This isn't a full-stack role (expect roughly an 80/20 infra-to-dev split), but we want someone curious enough to cross that line when needed
- Calm under pressure, pragmatic about trade-offs, clear communicator across teams
- ISO 27001 / SOC 2 exposure or certification experience (no longer a core requirement, still a plus)
- DevSecOps tooling (SAST/DAST, SBOMs, scanning)
- Threat modeling, or continuous compliance automation
